About

Austin Ellis grew up in Stanley, North Dakota, and graduated from Stanley High School in 2017. He attended Minot State University before transferring to the University of North Dakota, where he earned his Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) degree in 2023 after discovering the program was the perfect fit. He is also MLD (Manual Lymphatic Drainage) Certified.

As an occupational therapist with Total Balance’s Mobile Rehab team, Austin enjoys the collaborative, whole-person approach to care. He believes the best outcomes come from looking beyond a diagnosis and understanding each person’s goals, lifestyle and unique challenges. By creating individualized treatment plans, he helps clients regain independence, improve function and return to the activities that matter most to them.

Austin is especially passionate about hand therapy and hopes to become a Certified Hand Therapist in the future. He also enjoys helping people discover the full scope of occupational therapy, which extends far beyond orthopedic injuries to include mental health, vision, sensory and behavioral concerns, lifestyle redesign and much more.

Outside of work, Austin enjoys spending time with his fiancée (soon to be his wife!), golfing with friends and taking advantage of any opportunity to be outdoors.
